Sharon Aldridge-Bent MBE

Leadership Consultant

Hi,
I'm sharon

I educate, train, inspire by offering an authentic approach to leadership, both on a personal and professional level.

Welcome

ABOUT ME

I have over thirty years of experience working as a nurse, educator, academic and leadership expert. I am a fully qualified Myers Briggs Type Indicator Practitioner MBTI® and can provide tailor-made sessions using this assessment tool if appropriate. I have extensive experience of working with the NHS, Department of Health and Social Care, Health Education England, Higher Education Institutions, and the Charitable sector.

I am passionate about developing people and their leadership skills at every part of an individual’s journey, and promoting self-awareness. My approach is about the ability to truly ‘consider what it is like to be on the receiving end of me’.

"Leadership
in the room"

Throughout my time as a leadership facilitator, I have honed skills around recognising the ‘elephant in the room’, normally a large, obvious, and important thing that no one wants to address because the problem is uncomfortable.

My style of facilitation identifies what the real issues are for individuals, teams, and organisation. By using kind, compassionate, open and honest strategies, I can ‘structure controversy’ and allow for a space to develop relationships and solutions.

are you at a crossroads?

White Background

Personal Development

  • Are you feeling lost?

  • Are you questioning your role or future development both personally or professionally?

  • Are you feeling ‘burnt out’ and ‘overwhelmed’?

Team Development

  • Do you work in a team that does not communicate?

  • A team that ‘can’t get along’ or ‘don’t like each other’

  • A team that lacks motivation and have lost their way?

Organisation Support

  • Are you working with a board that does not communicate?

  • Do you work in an organisation that is lacking in vision? Do you feel like ‘nobody knows what’s going on’?

  • Are people resistant to change and there is little interest in strategy

I offer a range of quality educational, training and development interventions to improve the delivery of health and social care. I work with individuals, teams and organisations to improve their understanding of leadership, systems leadership and how to improve the way in which services are delivered to the people you serve.

PROCESS OF WORK

1

Scoping

  • Diagnostic Assessment: working in partnership is vital to my work. Establishing ‘the ask’ and advising on ‘the reality’ is fundamental to our relationship.

  • Meeting and listening to key stakeholders: development of rapport and relationship to ensure that we meet outcomes effectively and efficiently.

2

creation

  • Proposal: the production of a proposal document or presentation to jointly agree on what is to be delivered.

  • Agreement: contracting, budget and costings are  agreed.

3

delivery

  • Engagement: regular meetings and interim feedback/ report.

  • Timeline/deadlines: jointly developed to ensure that the work remains on track.

4

future

  • Evaluation & Sustainability Report: identification and celebration of achievements and recommendations for future development

Sharon stands out in many settings owing to the way she practices soft leadership to raise difficult subjects in way that engages others and, when necessary, takes control of situations by providing leadership that others want to get behind.

This is possible through the integrity that Sharon demonstrates in how she values herself, and the people she works with, equally well and in the commitment shown to achieving the right outcome whatever the leadership challenge.
